Certainly did! Perfect timing Naomi… the roll of the wave is great and creates an awesome silhouette in the surfer. Fantastic shot.

I believe that the expression and pose of the surfer form as much of the timing as the arc and spray of the incoming wave.

The look of expectancy, anticipation and waiting for the right time to plunge in are captured so well for a silhouette.

The lighting on the wave is also highly impressive, the way it captures and flicks the top of the water as it curves and curls upon itself, but the final killer impact for me is the way the background works.

Jet black darkness in the top right which transcends around to leave the onlookers in a soft darkness – almost dreamlike and adds to the image with so much in its subtlety.

Great shot! The composition is excellent, and it is full of atmosphere.
