The Gate

The Gate

Well, I’m back from the farm….almost froze it was so bloody cold (OK, not as cold as in some parts of the world, Simon, but I was bloody cold!! lol)

Of course the first image I post has to be IR, so here it is. Filter almost froze to the lens, but I had to get this in infrared.

Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Filter: R72
ISO 400
f/4.5
Focal Length: 18mm
Exposure: 25sec
Tripod and frozen fingers and toes.

And no, it wasn’t snowing, the grass was green, it just goes white with the ir filter.

You are so stealth like in that we don’t realise how much we’ve missed your work until you do an upload (that was meant to come out as a huge compliment btw!)

This feels cold – there is a real sense of still and chill in the air and the lovely low position with fence hitting the horizon is just lovely. The cool blue sky then lends itself to the shot with a cool blue hue throughout.

    Spine tingling stuff

I agree with Stuart – it is always so good when you see something in ‘mybubble’ that you have posted – always beautiful, always inspiring. This is another gem – the colours are so peaceful and although it looks cold it really looks beautiful and a place that i would like to be in if i wanted that peace and solitude it offers.

Nice depth as always Nome…like the diagonal of the fence and the wiggles in the gate. You Ozzies know how to make a good fence…..and its not cold here at the moment….its a heady 23 degrees thanks LOL.

Always a pleasure to see your IR work Naomi so this is a welcome return. This has a really cold stillness to it and the blue tones of the sky are very effective. Oh and you always know how to make a fence look good!
