Amazing detail, Lovely!!!!!
Thanks Sharon. I escaped for a while into the front garden and for once my camera didn’t play up.Thanks for all your comments tonight. :)
WOW!!! Perfect landing indeed! Great macro and love the contrast between bee and yellow flower!
Lovely macro! That bee/hoverfly does look happy there.Out of interest, how does macro work? My camera has a macro setting, but i tried to use it and failed because my camera jsut sat there sulking and refusing to take a decent picture. WHat am i doing wrong?
Thanks for the lovely comment Alice.
Macro….it depends on the camera and how many pixels it has I suspect. I use a Ricoh Caplio – 5 megapixels, which is great for macro and not brilliant for normal photography. This shot was taken on the macro setting and using the zoom. You do have to zoom in and out a bit to get it right. Luckily this fly/bee actually sat still long enough for me to zoom in and out until I got it right. The camera lens would have been only about an inch from the flower and I cropped the shot a little too. All I can suggest Alice is that you practice a bit with the macro setting and zoom. Pick an object such as a small flower and keep taking shots as you zoom in and out until you get it right.
Thanks for the advice, as soon as it stops raining i’ll go out and practice.
Lovely macro. Beautiful colours and great detail. Very nice work!
