My Grandmother is from Germany where it’s common practice to pick wild mushrooms from the forests to eat . As a child I used to go mushroom hunting with my grandmother. There is nothing more beautiful than coming across a cluster of fresh wild mushrooms in the forest. The trick is to pick a few and leave the rest to spread their spores.

Fact: Once picked, they start to deteriorate quickly into black goo that can be used as ink. They are edible only if you do not consume any alcohol a few days before and after they are eaten. This mushroom contains a chemical which prevents your body from detoxifying alcohol, and although it’s not commonly associated with death, it can cause cardiovascular problems and will make you violently ill if mixed with even the tiniest bit of alcohol.
