Hot Air Balloon Ride

This dawn balloon ride took us over all the left bank temples, clear over the Nile and then landed us in a tiny clearing in a cane field just outside of Luxor. Our remarkable Captain negotiated other balloons, squeezed us between palm trees and hopped over some power lines. I was very impressed – our basket was huge, containing 30 odd people.

The flight was longer than usual, over an hour and we cleared the Nile which they told us often doesn’t happen. We saw a magnificent sunrise and took some amazing photos of the tops of people’s houses, monuments and animals in fields.
