Double wow! In the words of Pauline, “Please explain!” I’d love to know the story around the production of this image, from the layering to the image choices. That would make for good reading!
I agree – love to know more about thisshot as it is in EPIC PROPORTIONS – you gotta be sooooo proud of this one Flamejob – I think you have outdone yourself…. Just too sensational fo words!!!!
Guys – This is a sculpture that is stuck on the side of the Ian Potter Art Gallery in Swanston st Melbourne. I snapped it yesterday from a low angle, clipped out the grey, washed out sky (Melbourne weather !) and added my own (I keep a collection of interesting sky pics for just such occasion). I then used Flaming Pear’s Flexify to warp the sky as a seperate layer behind the foreground. The results with Flexify are pretty random so it took a while to get the effect I wanted but as it happened, it came out with that ‘spout’ effect with the clouds so I positioned it in a way that made it appear to be coming out of the urn then merged the sky layer and the foreground layer. After that, there was a LOT of dodging and burning work to reposition the focal point for the shifted light source from the Urn.
Just to give it that extra bit of shadow I duplicated the layer and set the top one to Soft Light then merged them again – phew !
Fantastic image. Your work just blows me away. The structure, colour, texture – everything is working in this. It is always a pleasure to see what you have come up with.
Hey gangsta-FJ,..I was at that party, (drunk), and met my wife after being thrown out for trading blows with the discus guy! (I told the boy to getupoff my Jordon’s) Small world. U GOT MAD SKAWBBLES this shot blew me away
Hey Flame, nice to see you here! I was led to Redbubble by CathieT, also from Oz. Never knew before how much talent was stacking around your side of the globe. You`ve got some awesome work here, this one especially floated my boat!
That is absolutely stunning, Glad you said what you did to obtain such a fantastic composition, I always love to know! I’ll just pop this with my favorites! LOL
It’s what happened with real art work during creation. You never know at beginning what will be at the end. But when you see some successful thing you use it… Guess it’s happened by creation of this stunning piece of art. My congratulations.
