Sentimental Moment

Take me to a place that I once knew
Where emotions burst sparks in my heart
There are times I doubt how I should feel
But you have everything: the charm, the art

Take me to a world of make beliefs
Where rules and hearts are meant to be broken
There are lucid dreams even in the wake
And only you could be the token

It is only an illusion, so one would say
But it feels so real like a life of its own
It is only a fantasy, and one should know
But the lines are blurred: existence on loan?

It is beautiful, yet stained with sorrow
The world of ‘what ifs’ and ‘either/ors’
If there was a chance I could be with you
I’d take it in a heartbeat and leave the chores

You may think I’m crazy, well so do I
But I don’t care much: what, how or why
And in this place where ‘could bes’ are
You might be mine if you weren’t that far

Beautiful ending and “existance on loan” strikes up powerful images. Great work.
