Commander Salamander - Washington D.C. by

A local punk/urban offbeat shop in the Georgetown D.C. area established in 1976. The shop was known for selling punk, new-wave and bondage clothes and accessories. Shoppers could find t-shirts from their favorite bands, Doc Martens imported from England and a wide variety of novelty items, studded collars, stickers and buttons.

The store closed its doors forever on December 31, 2010 with dozens of other local businesses called it quits (including Commander Salamander’s sister store Up Against the Wall).
