Hopelessly lost

Overwhelmed by the pain within my life
With the salve that claims to allieviate my strife
Will this light disappear within a day?

Crashing into cars
Sliding off of chairs
Tripping over stars

Or will it turn you numb,
Turn you away?

I’ve tried my damndest
Not to fall again

When given a look like that to lift my mood

Salvation is the name
Of this guessing game

And words coated in sugar, honey and jam
Will hopefully convince me that I am

Coming towards me with no sight to bay
Maybe it’s always been here,
