Ostrich Tentacles by Firedrake
So I was at a sushi restaurant with my friend, and she said ‘ostrich tentacle’ rather than octopus tentacle. A curious beast that just had to be painted.
Ostriches are cool – sort of snooty and silly looking at the same time.
I liked painting his funny feets.

I think he’s got a look on his face like he’s passing through airport security, trying to smuggle in an octopus and trying REALLY hard to act casual.

It could be useful for an ostrich to have tentacles back there. They could get more rock climbing done. This is very cool
Ah…yeah, cause ostriches like to nest really really high up. Maybe in a few million years they’ll have evolved some?

This is great! Maybe he’s going through airport security, and he’s nervous even though he hasn’t done anything wrong, but is worried he looks suspicious because he feels nervous, which makes him look more nervous….
I hate that. Then you start to feel all hot, and then you realise no one else looks nervous, and the sniffer dog comes up to you…
