In the bestiary there’s also a garden. It’s walled off though, so the beasts can’t trample it!

I loved painting the undulating fin shapes of this piece, so I had to do another.

15×30cm, watercolour, chalk pastel, ink, conte, iridescent pigments and copper leaf on canvas.

    I wish you could really plant spinal cords to get this kind of garden. Pruning could be tricky though.

    Cool work! Just like a coral garden… if it was made of spines…

  • Haha, so that’s where my inspiration came from! It was only in March that I was swimming with coral :)
