Chief
Not the friendliest beast in the bestiary! Somewhat wounded too…I think he needs some ‘alone’ time just now.
He is big and took ages – 30×40cm, watercolour, chalk pastel, ink, conte, iridescent pigments (on the feather tips) and copper leaf splatters, on canvas.

Wow, cool work. Something about this one. Could be the shape and lines of his face, or the detail in the feathers. Has a real presence.
So where’s he fit into the world? He’s not a beakface, but in with them? Related to them, but without the need for a mask? Or injured fighting them? Or too many questions? ;)
Firedrake replied
Questions anger the chief!! Hehe.
I think he’s a kind of loner… not sure yet!!

BLYTHART
Do any of these creatures reflect your inner desires for world domination, or is that just me getting it wrong again? :)) You have truly created a world of your own, ruled over by really scary beasts …. if ever you conquer the world Kaitlin, please remember all the lovely things I have said in the past about your artwork and show a little mercy :))
Firedrake replied
Of course, beakface world takeover is imminent! The bestiary will always need keepers Dave! I’ll put you in charge of a less toothy one :)
frozenfa
whoah.. love this character.. love the details! hmm.. hehe.. yea, am curious too, what inspires you to create these awesome beasts?
Firedrake replied
Probably the cheese I eat before bed :D
Jason Moses
He’s worth it. Yours is some of the most tasteful use of mixed media that I’ve ever seen.
Firedrake replied
Thanks! Unfortunately lots of the media don’t really show…you pretty much have to see them in the flesh. My photography skills aren’t really up to it!

Oh my god! Dad used to get the same expression if we were talking to much during the news on TV. Didn’t even need to speak, the look was enough and we would all shut up and slink off. lol Val
