It’s funny how you can plan a design then make one mistake and it goes from ok to brillant. That’s exactly what happened with my Hollow Tree Christmas card.
I started off with my Christmas tree that I had made in PS and then added the Christmas ornaments that I had made. The lights didn’t seem to be shimmering or even give a real glow on my original tree. Therefore I used the star brush of some sort and glistened all the lights with their respective color.
Oh, I was feeling soooo good about the design. Of course I added the extracted presents and a bit of snow to give the card some foundation. Then I knew I had to do something with the background as white was just not doing it.
I decided to try a gradient. From doing all the ornaments I’ve learned quite a bit about the gradients and their effects. I decided on a rather basic white and green. Now as usual someone interrupted me just as I was adding the gradient. No sooner did I let go of the click and I knew I had not placed it on the right layer. It covered up my original Christmas tree!
Then I looked at the design that was left and Wow I was surprised at it myself. I loved the card and generally if I like it someone else will too. So I added it to all my PODs that have cards and they have sold!!
Of course I had to make a matching stamp:

However, my first sale of this card came right here at RedBubble.

At some of the PODs I was able to insert an inside message. If you should be interested drop on by my Firecrackinmama Online Party and check them out!
