This painting was created on satin silk using French water soluble dyes and gold gutta.
The word vishudda is from the ancient Sanskrit language and means purification. This painting is the fifth in a series of seven I painted, inspired by my spiritual practice of meditation and self-discovery in my time in Glastonbury.
The throat chakra is linked with the colour blue and is all about being honest with yourself and your level of self-expression to others. Honesty and clarity bring expansion and a feeling of being boundless and free. And how can you tell when your expression is less than truthful? The tell-tale signs are sore throats, coughs, loss of voice and anything which indicates a blockage to the free flow of energy in your throat.
Speaking your truth from the heart can truly set you free.
