Getting Your Work Out There by FionaStolze

Posted on December 30, 2009

It’s always a strange feeling when I decide to enter new territory and join a group or forum that will display my work. As all of you know it’s like getting stripped naked when you first start putting your work out there.

So despite the fact that I’ve been doing my art for many years, it still feels like a new beginning being here on Red Bubble and getting to know the artist community. And it never ceases to amaze me how diverse the work on offer is. I mean, I know my artwork intimately and it’s always an eye-opener to start browsing on sites like this and see what everyone else is doing. So different from mine. Stuff I would never have thought of in a million years.

But that’s the beauty of art, isn’t it? It’s great, truly inspiring. And I so love the colours in everything.

So a big thanks to all of you here for sharing your work. I am certainly enjoying being a part of it all.

Hi Fiona, I admire your involvment in Red Bubble joining so many groups and ‘getting your work out there’. I haven’t had the time to even go on Red Bubble for a while and check out the groups. I am so frustrated that my health problems and packing (slowly, because I can’t work fast) to move house in a few months is taking away my time to paint. However I was very thrilled to see that my ’Mother’s Favourite Roses" was featured in the group. I am motivated to try to start some silk painting over the weekend now ! After I have moved, I intend to make silk painting a priority as long as I don’t have to go and have my spinal surgery then !

    Cheers,
    Beth
