Woman with cushions
This is from a life drawing study at a sketch group I regularly attend. I was influenced by Japanese artists of the 1930’s such as Toraji Ishikawa.
It is traced from a pencil study on cartridge paper onto watercolour paper. (Fabriano medium pressed) and the outline is reinforced in pencil after I painted the watercolours.
Woman with cushions belongs to the following groups:
I ♥ Patterns, Japanfluence and The Artistic Nude Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

What a beautiful montage of pattern, color and texture. Your model is portrayed as human, believable, and beautiful.

Like many of your others, I like this piece. I would play with color schemes just to see where you could go with this. If it was a woodblock like the Japanese masters, one could easily do mutiple different colored prints. It might be fun to experiement on Photoshop then do a seriies of variously schemed colors in prints or giclees.. As a design it is extremely appealing and seems to follow the classic L pattern. Very very Nice.

I love the contrast between the curves of the woman and the square back ground patterns.
