Man seated on a couch
This is a pastel portrait of my flatmate. Its about 20cm x 30 cm. When I am getting people who don’t normally model to pose for me. I sit them down in front of a video. This is because posing is quite arduous and people after a while begin to get a rather mournful look on their face.(No wonder. They’re bored and they are in pain or else they are close to falling asleep). When people are watching TV they look a little bit more alert.
The pattern on the couch is of little yellow porsches. Like most blokes my flatmate likes yellow porsches and like most blokes he hasn’t got one.

Very nicely done!! Great colors and composition. Other than being able to see “sketching” lines in the shirt which would make this piece close to perfect if removed….. I see nothing wrong with this great artwork!!

Super piece of pastel work I especially like the hand and face the colouring is very natural and you have gone to a lot of trouble to put all those yellow porsches and detail into the background I would say quite an excellent portrait well done
Fiona O'Beirne replied
Thank you for that and thank you for noticing the porsches. LOL

I just wrote on my other picture that I didn’t put yellow porsches in because she’s not a bloke. But hey like you said girls can like porsches too and I like the sketch lines too.
