Fineli
Profile
I am a keen photographer. I will attempt any assignment but my interests are mainly abstracts, flowers, landscapes and travel. I have lived in New Zealand for 15 years. Before that I lived all my life in South Africa – born in Durban, lived in the Free State and spent my adulthood in Johannesburg. I am fortunate enough to be able to return on a regular basis. When I was in my teens I had a Brownie box camera but film was too expensive to take many photos. In the eighties I got my first SLR – a Canon T50. It was very basic but it took great photos but you couldn’t lock the light in any way. I decided to learn the technical side and bought the T90. I still enjoy taking slides with my EOS5 but am taking more and more photos digitally now. It is a whole different ballgame – I love the up-front part – taking photos I would never have been able to get before and the immediate playback but I really don’t enjoy all the time in front of the computer not to mention all the extra hardware and backup required - toooo much time in front of the computer instead of taking photos!
