Sunrise behind Gasherbrum IV by

I was out of the tent a bit late the morning this shot was taken, so there was no time to use ND grad filters to balance the bright sky and dark foreground. So I took three shots at different exposures and blended them together to bring out some detail in Gasherbrum IV, without blowing out the rays of the rising sun.

Hi Pete, glad you like it. I thought I’d blown the chance to get this shot as I had forgotten to set my alarm. So by the time I’d got out of the tent I had about 3 minutes before the sun had risen behind the ridge. So it was a bit of a rush, tripod legs flailing !
