Snow Covered Limestone Pavement with Ingleborough in Distance Twistleton Scar by

There had been heavy snow on Christmas Day, so when it was forecast to be bright and cold on Boxing Day I set of for Twistleton Scar above Ingleborough. This was taken late in the afternoon, after the sun had melted some of the snow making the limestone pavement visible.

Ingleborough is the second highest of the Yorkshire dales three peaks located above Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Whernside being the highest, which is above Ribblehead overlooking the famous viaduct on the Settle Carlisle Line. The third of the peaks is Pen-y-ghent located just to the east of Horton in Ribblesdale.
