Christmas Wishes Christmas Smiles

The dreams of Christmas wishes
Appear in coloured boxes
Underneath a spreading tree.
The smiles of happiness
At the sound off paper tearing
As children’s cries of joy and laughter
Echo through the warm rooms
Where the aroma grows
As the feast awaits the family
As once again they gather together
to celebrate their fare.
In the street people hurry past
Oblivious as An old man
pushes his hand Into the cold winter day
From his warm cardboard bed.
His Christmas wish already Fulfilled
the day is dry.
He smiles as he sees another Christmas morning.
Perhaps I’ll just stay in my warm box today
He whispered to himself.
