In the beginning you existed this I know
You were in my thoughts each and every day
I could see you though I have never seen you
You are beautiful this I am sure
But as time wanders by, you began to slip further
And further into a blurry distant memory
Hidden from view by newer memories good and bad.
But every so often the distant mist would clear
And my thoughts would become real once more
And I wonder what you are doing now
Are you happy are you sad are you alive are you,
The last too hard to contemplate.
The questions would flow through my mind
At times I chased down the mist hoping
To find a clue to your existence
Each time being beaten back by inky grey shapes
Surrounded by locked doors and blank faces
All pointing back the way I came
Back too a more forgetful state of mind
Waiting there till the next time
And now after all these years finally
There is a chance, a slight hope
Now you no I exist, now you no I too am reality
The doors may unlock andthe mists may clear
Maybe only a little but a thread of hope is there
Where once were only dreams, and empty wishes
Remains a chance, now after all these years .
