Just another day

I had one in me…

Just another day belongs to the following groups:

My mom can be a bit forgetful sometimes, absentminded, really. She’ll tell us to do something and then, an hour later, when she sees us done, she’ll be so proud. She really thinks we had the initiative to do it ourselves. It’s nice when allowance time comes around but sometimes, it’s not so great.

She’s also a neat freak. A real Mrs. Clean. Anything out of order, and two seconds later, it’s gone. A towel on the floor disappears. A ladder in front of the house vanishes. Yup, that’s my mom for you.

Well, the sun is just about to set. I guess I better lie down and take a nap. I wonder how long before my mom remembers she sent me up to the roof to clean the gutter.

“Jimmy? Where are you?”

That’s a very kind thing to say
And it really has made my day
    And for doing that
    I must thank you, Matt
A cheer for you: Hip, Hip, Hooray!

A well twisted story there. And good use of the ladder. I missed it as a throw away, then bam it means everything.

Well, thank you ever so much for such a nice comment, Craig!

Hey – I had to read that twice to get it! Nice twist – though where would you take a nap on the roof??

  • filfil replied

Well, I think that sitting on a roof for such a long time makes anything else feel pretty comfortable. I’m just glad my mom would never let any of her little girlies do that!

Mark, you’ve never lived in a house with a flat roof? We have ‘em all over here, and they’re not fun when it’s rained or snowed a lot.
Great story Filfil – I too missed the ladder, and then it hit me. Great twist! :)

  • filfil replied

Much appreciated, Jeannette. By the way, I love the way your name is spelled. So cool.

This is so good. I had a grandmother like that. You go to grab your drink and the glass has been washed and put away! Great writing!

  • filfil replied

Ha! Oh my gosh, that’s hilarious! Thanks Zolton!
