Commercials by filfil

While flipping through the channels one day, I stopped to watch a commercial. It was for an amazing knife that could cut through anything. To persuade people to buy it, they showed a man in a hard helmet trying to cut frozen ribs with a hammer and a chisel. Then they showed a woman hacking away at some tomatoes without even looking and accidentally chopping her finger.

I changed the channel and saw another ad for a paper cutter with a built in light and ruler. the lady advertising it was completely uncoordinated. She used a pair of scissors to destroy a perfectly good picture just to tell us to buy the cutter. I was indignant. I know how to use scissors!

I think that those who advertise shouldn’t degrade their customers to get sales. If people thought of how stupid producers make us look, they might not want to buy their products.

Have you ever had nothing to do and nothing was on tv, so you end up watching an infomercial? Those are the worst! They aggravate me, especially ones for hair and makeup products. At least the ones for knives and cookware have food that might look good. But still, they make us look dumb for not knowing how to use scissors. I always wonder if anyone buys those things, and if they actually work. I doubt it though.

We have bought some of the things on infomercials. My dad talked my mom into buying a food processor that looked cool, but when we plugged it in, it burnt. That was the end of that. If you wake up early on Sunday, there is usually nothing on tv besides infomercials. Some channels, llke QVC only sell stuff, so late at night i sometimes watch the jewlery and the tools and hardware. it’s kind of fun.
