Arms Outstretched

This is an entry into the Flash Fiction – Back of An Envelope Challenge

THE TEXT READS

The trees are waving wildly to me through the windows as the wind picks up; wind that will reach gale force strength. It is bringing the dark clouds from the horizon closer, closer to the balcony and me.

If I go outside and stand on the balcony, arms outstretched, how will the wind welcome me? Will it sweep me off my feet to the ground below? The pain of the sudden stop at the end couldn’t match the pain you’ve left me with.

The way you walked away from me and into his arms.

The glass door is rattling. I’ll close it from the outside.
