This is an old piece from when I was mainly doing watercolour house potraits to commission. This was my ‘sample’ painting, of the centre building in Ann street, one of the finest streets in Edinburgh’s new town.
Exceptionally well done! Lovely, gentle touch – has that lovely soft atmosphere that watercolours do so well!

What a wonderful place, the ‘new town’ is (I stayed in a b&b in Royal terrace last year). This fine watercolour, captures the atmosphere of the wonderful, Georgian/Regency buildings in that area, beautifully.
