Artist's Description

The river red gum is a beautiful example of eucalyptus. To survive to the driest periods this tree kills a part of itself, making part of its branches to die, so it reduces its needs of water.

The earliest explorers in central Australia used to call this tree the “tree of the widows”, because of the dead branches falling on the head of the people that was resting under its shade…

One of the thousand of dangers in the remotes parts of this amazing country!!!
