The Cutler Bay Wetlands is situated just off Old Cutler Road (SW 224 Street) in the Town of Cutler Bay in Miami-Dade County, South Florida. Formerly called Cutler Ridge, the Town of Cutler Bay was incorporated November 8, 2005. It has a population of just fewer than 25,000 and is also home to the Southland Mall formerly named Cutler Ridge Mall.

There are many species of birds that visit this 54 acre swampland. On any given day and, depending on the time of the year, you are likely to see quite a variety of avian life feeding and wading in the shallow waters of this tucked away everglade.

Following are some of the avian variety that sporadically visit this marshland which is slightly north of Homestead, Florida: Great Egret, Snowy Egret, American White Pelican, Great blue Heron, Little Blue Heron, Anhinga, Wood Duck, Northern Pintail, Cattle Egret, Green Heron, White Ibis, Glossy Ibis, Sandpipers, Sea Gulls … just to name a few. According to the Audubon Society, more than 120 species of birds are known to visit the Cutler Bay Wetlands.
