I’ve wanted to visit this location for a long time. The weather report showed possibly favorable conditions for sunset last saturday so I hit the road on the roughly 2-hour each way journey around the bay to Batesford, just outside of Geelong. The GPS on my phone only sent me the wrong way once, which is good.
I arrived to find a couple had beaten me there, snapping away wildly at the famous lone tree, which is a photographic icon in these parts.

Beaut light Sean…amazing how iconic this one tree has become, but it’s a pearla and I’ve visited it myself a long time back..
Thanks Rob. I’m dying to go back here with a completely clear sky so I can do some star photography. I think the tree and various rock formations could make for some interesting foregrounds.
