Creeping Bellflower-Campanula rapunculoides

Plant: Erect perennial 30-100 cm tall, from spreading rootstock with fleshy vertical roots.

Leaves: Coarse, irregularly toothed, 1.5-8 cm long, rounded to heart-shaped at the stem base, gradually narrower and shorter-stalked upwards.

Flowers: Blue to violet, bell-shaped, 5 lobed, 2.5-3.5 cm long; fowers nodding in stiff, 1-sided, elongating clusters.

Blooms: July to August

Fruits: Round, nodding capsules, opening near the base.

Habitat: Disturbed ground.

Distribution: Eurasia; naturalized across temperate North America (exept Saskatchewan). Pick : freely.
