I’ve been taking photographs since the age of 5 when I could first hold my Dad’s old Kodak. I’m glad to say that the images have improved a bit from those first black and white shots, now that I can hold the camera straight!
I was given an old Russian made SLR years ago and had to go to evening classes to learn how to use it, but that is the extent of my photographic education. I progressed to a great Canon SLR and had fun experimenting with lenses and filters until it got stolen. I went on to use a Fuji Finepix S602 zoom but find that rather heavy and the 4 AA batteries run out of juice far too quickly. I fell back on my Nikon Coolpix more often than not. I now use the Panasonic TZ10, it’s a great little camera with a huge range of features and I have just invested in the Nikon 3100 DSLR and am having fun experimenting and making a long list of the extra lenses, filters and other gadgets that I would like to play with :-).
For me the art of photography lies in compostion, I’m not a huge fan of digitally altered images and I’m not particularly technically minded. I hope my photos are as pleasing to others as they are to me, if not any hints and tips are greatly appreciated.
