I’ve been taking photographs since the age of 5 when I could first hold my Dad’s old Kodak. I’m glad to say that the images have improved a bit from those first black and white shots, now that I can hold the camera straight!
I was given an old Russian made SLR years ago and had to go to evening classes to learn how to use it, but that is the extent of my photographic education. I progressed to a great Canon SLR and had fun experimenting with lenses and filters until it got stolen. I now use a Fuji Finepix S602 zoom but it is now past it’s prime and I’m looking to upgrade when I can afford it. I also use a Nikon coolpix 4600 which I carry around with me all the time to capture candid shots, though it is very versatile it is also a few years old now.
For me the art of photography lies in compostion, I’m not a huge fan of digitally altered images and I’m not particularly technically minded. I hope my photos are as pleasing to others as they are to me, if not any hints and tips are greatly appreciated!

As a girl I heard it once said / If a man ate nothing but bread / He would end up looking / Like a big fat pudding / With only a bun for a head
I must keep moving, though every step is now hindered as snow clings to the bottom of my boot.
The wind whips up the placid water, forcing it up onto the shore like footsoldiers on a battlefield.
