My shot #1 on Flickr's Explore
Yesterday I woke to 5000 views on my Summer Storm over Swansea Heads shot on flickr up from 60 when I went to bed.

One comment said well done on #1 Explore. I never look at explore but there was my shot on the calendar for the 20th November . (For those not on Flickr see description of Explore below)
By the end of yesterday my shot had 8000 views, 260 faves and 80 comments.
For someone that averages 20 – 30 views per picture this makes me feel great and thought I would share it with you all. (Not a bad ego boost too :) )
(There are lots of elements that make something ‘interesting’ (or not) on Flickr. Where the clickthroughs are coming from; who comments on it and when; who marks it as a favorite; its tags and many more things which are constantly changing. Interestingness changes over time, as more and more fantastic content and stories are added to Flickr.)

Wow, congratulations, Steve. Not that I am surprised, you are a very talented photographer :)

Thanks for the compliment Sue.
I was surprised it made it so high as I don’t play the ‘explore game’ of adding it to a million groups and the like.
But to be #1 for the day while all the others were moving around was great.

Congratulations Steve – you have some beautiful work and its nice to be recognised for that. I’ll have to check out Flickr one day. Meanwhile bask in the glory – it certainly makes you feel good.
