I have a strong passion for underwater photography; I enjoy the process of capturing images in this challenging environment, understanding the effect on light under the surface, exploring the remote environment at depth, and then bringing the visual image to those who do not understand such places brings great satisfaction. The sharing of experiences with those that do partake in life below the surface which can later be recalled is very enjoyable.
I have used my enthusiasm for underwater photography to develop a portfolio website: www.fatfishphoto.com.au and a number of photo books. I intend on adding to these methods of sharing my work through exhibition and further printed works.
As a qualified scuba instructor I have the opportunity to share my knowledge and photography techniques through teaching Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) courses in Digital Underwater Photography. I continually strive to enhance my appreciation of photographic technique and culture in order to achieve a greater understanding which I can share with fellow divers and photographers.
