New Orleans Lives

The weekend of Hurricane Katrina, I created this design (based on a record album cover I shot some fifty years ago, Bird Lives).

I uploaded it to one of the popular Web sites that offers to sell creations on T-shirts, coffee mugs…whatever. (Frankly, I needed any money that it might have generated; at my age, I’ve found it difficult to get work.)

I bought two of the shirts…the ONLY two that were sold on the site. To this day, I have not been able to find my design using the site’s search function (though, later designs with the same title come up when the site is searched).

I’ve been wearing one of the shirts for the last two years (of course, I launder it, silly). The second T-shirt is meant to be sent to Ellen (the TV gal who’s from New Orleans…Yeah, I’m a bit late!).

It’s a pretty cool T. And, maybe, I’ll buy another one, here, at Red Bubble.
