This is so wonderful! of course i’m partial to your reflection shots… as always, this is beautifully composed. i was struck with the thought (after just returning from Sydney) that many people who use the iconic yellow cab, are tourists, who are most likely feeling a bit topsy turvey in the strange land that is NYC…. so the upside down / reversed lettering is really representative of the tourists impressions of a bustling city such as this.
Farras Abdelnour replied
i always love your perspective and interpretation of my photos, gail. and this is no exception!
Brendan Schoon

So New York. “Buttafuco.”
Farras Abdelnour replied
john, john… of all people only you could make such comparison, buttafuco :-). i actually had to look it up. completely forgot about the dude. it’s been so long since this sad comedy. is the jazz festival happening this year? i understand the company managing it is experiencing financial difficulties, and the new york festival has been canceled this year.
madworld
Love this, its sort of like my life, upside down yet the right way round if you understand what I mean?
Farras Abdelnour replied
hmm… yup, i think i understand :-). interesting!
John Linton
As far as I know the Newport Jazz Festival is on. A friend of mine who used to work there as a kid in the late 50s and early 60s usually allows me to tag along when he goes. He’s a fountain of jazz knowledge. I believe we’ll be going on Saturday this year.
