I have a form of high-functioning autism. This affects the higher cognitive functions of the brain, and makes autistic people perceive the world differently from neurotypical people.
Someone (I wish it was me) once said this is not faulty software – just a different operating system.
A wonderful portrait Graham!!! Love the colortones, the texture, that one dark side of the face… And the hair!Brilliant capture! Fave!(did they vote in that contest yet???):-)
Thank you, Lilith. I nearly overdid it and removed too much of the shading, but rethought the process and reversed it. In the process, I managed to rescue a picture that had a very low resolution, so I’m still flushed with the success of this one.I don’t know about the competition… I’ll have to check.

Fantastic portrait…love the treatment!
Thank you, Jen. I’m glad you like it
I like the fold through the eyes. :) Beaut portrait and process.
I feel bad. You made this comment nearly a month ago, and I never responded. Very rude of me.
Thank you. Yeah, the fold is one of the better features. I’m glad you like the image.
i love it, terrific!
Thank you. I’ve been thinking lately about re-opening it and making it a bit more sepia. I’m glad you like it as it is, though
This is superb editing and processing Graham
Thanks… I was really just starting to learn how it all worked with this one
I think this is one of my favorites! So, handsome…
Handsome? Really? You’re going to make me blush
Yes, handsome. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t mean it.
Thank you. I knew you meant it. And I’m definitely glad you like it
great effect… what were you thinking re expression?
No, I don’t even know that that is. And I imagine that it would also imply that I had something specific in mind when I started working on this image. Instead, I just kept throwing in filters, messing with stuff and hoping for cool effects.
well i like the finish. i am still curious to know what you were thinking in your facial expression/eyes though (that’s what i meant re expression). :D
Oh, right… I completely misunderstood that question. Umm, I can’t remember. Probably wondering where the next beer was coming from. There’s a sort of haunted look, isn’t there? Like I’m trying to count them in my head and wondering if I’ve already drunk the last one
lmao. beer glorious beer! ;]
