A WACKIN' WHITE CHEROOT - BURMA by

“An’ I seed her first a-smokin’ of a wackin’ white cheroot.” Rudyard Kipling

When I first visited Bagan in the mid-90’s, the market was full of cheroot-puffing ladies. When I returned in 2006 – there were only a few.

Nothing lasts forever.

Great pic and title. The Shan women in my village still smoke these monsters, rough-as-guts tobacco, mixed with wood shavings, wrapped in a dried banana leaf. They last many hours, and when they go out they hold them behind their ear. It’s like a pack of fags in one cheroot. Keep ’em coming.
