Another fantastic shot, Michael. Your isolation technique is very clean. I love this one!
Michael Sheridan replied
Thanks, Hog – I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes these characters need to be liberated from their backgrounds.

brilliant shot,,, well done

Outstanding, as always Michael. Documentary and art combined so well.
By the way…do they not have Pugs in Burma?? :-)
Michael Sheridan replied
Thanks, randm – in three visits to Burma, I’ve only seen one pug. Here’s the link -

Stunning! Perfect!
Denzil
Just discovered your work, courtesy of the feature in Southeast Asia (congrats!).
I really love the ‘liberation’ from the backgrounds – it adds such dynamism and vitality to the pictures. If I knew how to do it, I would!!!
Michael Sheridan replied
Thanks, Denzil – a few years ago, I realized that I had dozens of good, candid people shots that were ruined by busy, distracting backgrounds. So, I started isolating the subject on a blurred background – a fairly easy Photoshop technique. Regards – MS

Excellent shot Michael, I agree with blindhog & Denzil, liberating the background has really added to this photo. Another fav! Very crisp shooting.
What’s your weapon of choice? I shouldn’t joke….weapon’s a dirty word to some folk! Camera?
Cheers Lee
Michael Sheridan replied
Thanks, stickel – my current weapon is a Canon 50D. But this shot is a few years old – I used a Nikon E8800 – the fold out screen let me shoot from the hip, a good way to get candid photos.
