TRIBAL LADY - ETHIOPIA
Life hasn’t been easy for this old Bume Lady. The Bume People are probably the poorest of the many tribes living in the remote Omo Valley – Southern Ethiopia. She was photographed in her village located on a bluff high above the muddy Omo River.

i love your photo of your old Ethopian Woman. I used to live in Kharthoum, Sudan when I was in my young 30’s. In the refugee camp known as Ga’a’la, I met ” Mama”, they (we) called her “The 100 year-old lady”! I found this was an act of rverence, surely she was no more than ten years older than I. In my time I find I have never lived as thorough a life as this wonderful woman did though I’m still a child of 62 years. Your photo brings back vivid memories and I thank you.
