At the close of the Rufus Wainwright concert in Belfast last evening this muscular specimen arrived on stage to further arouse a very excited audience. His job was to bring the majestic Rufus back on stage as Apollo who was about to be killed by a bolt of lightning. The wonderful Rufus came back as a Greek god with exceedingly shimmering legs and flip flops. The concert ended with Rufus lying on a mattress singing something hauntingly beautiful with half the audience lying on top of him. I have to say quite a few of them were male. If I had not been sitting in the gallery it is entirely possible that I would have been among them. How I got to the concert will accompany an image of Rufus at his piano.
