Mount Errigal From The Lodge by

Another view of this very lovely mountain, the highest peak of the Derryveagh Range in Donegal, Ireland. It always manages to look volcanic no matter which side you view it from. This view is taken just after the little hamlet of Dunlewey and heading towards Dungloe.

Beautiful view & I love that tree.

  • Thank you Michael……………….it is a rather unusual tree but I love it also………………….I have it from a different angle and I am only now realising that…………………………cheers Joyce

My Dear Joyce…. will yous top with these lovely images from Ireland?…… you’re killing me…….. I will have to move Ireland to the very top of my travel list because of your lovely images……. this is truly one very lovely image…. and I hope the bold and underlining works as I still have no idea how to do that in RB… but what I really want to say is this image does it for me…. it looks more like a painting by a master artist… of course that would be you…….. I just love that body of water in the mid-section of the image and how it leads the eye to the painterly mountain and clouds…… and those two trees in the foreground just add to the lovely dreamy effect of the image…… what a wonderful scene……. ok… I am starting to fall in like with Ireland…….. how about that for an admission….. from your “in love with this image” friend from Oakville……. Hany

  • My dear Hany………………….this is my gentle persuasion technique…………….is it working?………………I do hope so……………………I was quite pleased with this image……………..it is straight out of the camera……………….this is of course the Ireland beloved of painters………………………..when the light is right it is kind of perfect……………….I have been discussing Errigal with my coterie friends and we have come to the conclusion that she is female……………an alluring femme fatale who keeps pulling you back………………….God we are a poetic lot when let loose with coffee and gooey things………………….would you like to join us…………………..however long it takes………………..I will wait………………….from your trying to make you put Ireland at the top of your travel list friend in …………………you have guessed it……………….Joyce

  • Thank you so much Kate…………………..I love this place……………..the tree is a bit unique alright…………….sometimes you actually see more when you upload the image……………….odd, how much you don’t notice when taking the shot………………..weather is improving slightly and I have booked my holiday so all is good my friend………………………..chat later…………………………Joyce………………..xx

Awesome image Joyce, and it does have a painterly feeling to it. Just love the colours and the trees in the forefront, which really add to the scene. The mountain and the surroundings just all seem to fall into place. Amazing focus, clarity and composition. Nice job my friend. A definite fave. Susan

  • My dear Susan……………….thank you so much…………….I seem to end up at Mount Errigal every weekend, but it is a particularly lovely place………………..the light is always changing and I am in and out of the car like a yo-yo………………….my friend Jonny who accompanies me on this jaunts takes his own photographs so it works well and we have loads of laughs………………….of course this is the mountain we are going to climb……………..well you and I will sit at base camp…………….you with your champagne and binoculars……………………..oh, I can see it now……………………what fun…………………….chat later my friend……………….love Joyce………………………..xx
