This lovely oak tree has stood in the middle of this ploughed for as long as I can remember. On the road from Muff to Greencastle in Donegal with Lough Foyle in the background.
Oak trees are sacred in Celtic legend as these are places where the fairies live, so they must not be disturbed in any way. Farmers will always work around them. I am really glad they are not cut down in the name of progress, never mind the superstition surrounding them.
