We had glorious weather today in the North of Ireland so a quick trip up Scalp Mountain beckoned. For all of you who live in the spendour and majesty of soaring peaks, I would ask you to grant me a little poetic license here. Scalp Mountain is about twenty feet above see level as opposed to sea level. What has this got to do with the above image. Nothing really. This is an area of narrow winding roads and small farms where you drive at a walking pace and listen to the sounds of silence. The mountain to our left and the green fields rolling off to the right and so many lambs running around in the sun. An utterly delightful afternoon. I never realized until I got out of the car and all the sheep and lambs rushed from the bottom of the fields, that they could make so much noise. They cannot sing to save themselves, of course. They are quite tuneless but a joy to listen to nevertheless.
Did it put me off wanting to eat lamb………….no it did not!!
