What do you do when all the lights in the house fuse and you do not have a spare man or a spare fuse and even if you had a spare fuse, how do you find it in the dark? I can still use my laptop with a table lamp and create something in Picnik. This image began life as a purple weed or something and when I had finished messing around in Picnik this is the result. The colour immediately reminded me of an album I have called ‘Into The Purple Valley’ by the brilliant Ry Cooder, the best bottleneck guitar player in the world, I have no doubt. Ry Cooder may not be known to some people but this song certainly is. A song that was covered by many artists over the years but I am a big Cooder fan so I hope you like it.
My dear Joyce…… this is one of your best creations ever in my humble opinion…… let the lights go off every night then…. never mind a fuse or a man…. who needs them when such beautiful creations emerge out of the darkness?……. Now how did you know that my absolute favorite colours of all time is Purple?…… not that I am associated with the Minoan civilization or a descendant of Alexander the Great………. or related to any royalty or nobility when Tyrian purple was only affordable to the elite…….. but it does resonate with certain extreme attributes of mine……. and if you let me indulge for a moment……. that includes engineering, extreme friendship and passion, sharing in spirituality, wisdom and knowledge, extreme rage and sympathy for all human causes…… and more…… but I don’t want to sound like I am blowing my own horn…… so now you know a bit more about my purplish personality….. and that the colour purple satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world while adding a hint of mystery and excitement to every day life…….. and of course The Color Purple was and still is one of my favorite movies… and I can go on and on and on…. and if I remember correctly, you just adore Lavender, another wonderful shade of purple…… one of Cleopatra’s favorite colours as well…… now I better stop showing off my fascination with everything purple and turn to some chocolate before the evening is over……… from your everything-purple-lover friend…… Hany
My dear Hany……..I am delighted that you like my purple image……………..I love purple also and it is a colour that I suit……….oddly enough…………..it is a very sensual colour………….not for the shrinking violet…………now that is an oxymoron in my opinion…………………..I managed to stagger up to bed and I am now reclining in isolated spendour in my boudoir which has a delightful smell of lavender emanating from my drawers…………………now that does’nt sound right at all………………did I spell emanating correctly…………..I am not going downstairs again for the dictionary and I don’t know how to correct my spelling without losing the thing I am doing, which is typing this message back to you………………….I have almost finished Sushi and Beyond…………..interesting little hints about diet and disease…………..well I had my salmon tonight with sweet potato and squash roasted in olive oil………………….quite lovely………………I am now having my dark chocolate and I am going back to my cryptic crossword……………….God, I could do with some help there………………anyway now that I know what your favourite colour is…………………does it really matter about spelling………….people in your neck of the woods spell words differently anyway………………….maybe not a good idea to go there either…………………….I am rambling…………I need more chocolate…………..enjoy the remainder of your evening and I have a wonderful vision of you wearing…………………well I am not telling you…………………your little Irish tease…………………Joyce!!
