I have always been puzzled by the disappearance of the famous racehorse Shergar from an Irish stud in the 1980’s.
I have forgotten the name of the Irish stud as there were quite a few around at that time.
It was most certainly not Pierce Brosnan. When I saw this horse on a visit to Cap Ferrat I knew immediately that this was the same Shergar who had obviously changed his colour to protect his identity. However I was not fooled by his attempts at disguise.
Some information about the disappearance of Shergar for those who may not be familiar with the story.
Shergar was arguably the greatest racehorse to have ever lived. But 25 years after he was kidnapped from Ballymany the mystery of exactly what happened to him after he was snatched that night still lingers.
Then, as now, the story was one that gripped the world. From racing enthusiasts to ordinary members of the public, everyone wanted to know who had taken Shergar, why they had done so and what became of him.
At last the mystery has been solved.
