Statue in marble. by

This is the famous Giambologna’s statue called ‘The Rape of the Sabine Women’.
Dating from 1583 it was carved from a single block of flawed marble. It stands in the Piazza della Signoria in Florence. One of most beautiful cities in the world.

You sure captured this amazing piece of work beautifully. I remember it well. My husband Fred and I lived in Tuscany for over two years. Now we live near Roma, while Fred’s working on a project.
