I love finding these old abandoned buildings when I travel around the back roads of Donegal in Ireland. Many of them are being bought up and renovated and some, like this one, seem to be used as part of the farm for storage.

Old structures like this have a lot of character that modern day build ‘em as fast and cheap as you can buildings just don’t have. Very nice capture. I can only wonder what stories these walls could tell. I’m glad that some of these older places are being renovated and put back into use again.

Good morning Joyce; seems like this building has lots of old charm and character to it…… almost a shame to have been abandoned over the years………….. love the stone work…………… it looks to me like it is one of those buildings that outlast time………….. nice capture my friend………. now time for me to finish my morning coffee and go pack for my trip up north for the week…………. will chat with you from the other side…………… from your “still thinking about Paris and now may be thinking about Ireland” friend………….. Hany

  • Thank you Hany……………..I too love these old stone buildings and there are loads of them in Ireland…………….many of them renovated into beautiful homes………………………I am sure you are still back in Paris in your head…………….it is always wonderful to look at the images and keep the memories alive…………………I think that is why I love photography so much………………………Ireland is not Paris but it is wonderful in a very different way…………………..it may not be so expensive either……………………keep me posted and stay safe in the wilds…………………..I am suffering slightly with coughs and other horrible winter bugs at the moment…………………..it is dark and wet here but what can one do but hibernate………………………from your ‘still trying to catch up friend’ ……………………………Joyce
