I spent the weekend at the home of my friend Liz in the wilds of Donegal, Ireland. A large turf fire was the order of the day. Reading the papers and eating chocolates while listening to the wind howling is a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday. I took the above image from the living room window. The scenery in this image is very typical of the Gaeltacht area, the Irish speaking region of west Donegal. New houses have replaced the original old cottages but the wonderful dry stone walls remain and the character of the place has not changed very much over the years. I had been for a long walk and was almost blown into the Atlantic. I hope to return when the sun shines.
