The harbour of Cala Alcaufar on Menorca’s south-eastern tip. Menorca is one of the Balearic islands, off the Spanish Coast. This secret white harbour village has a magical blue-watered cove and totally laid-back way of life.
A little off the beaten tourist track, this picturebook whitewashed village is one of Menorca’s best-kept secrets. Huddled alongside a long, narrow inlet of light blue waters, its tangle of whitewashed dwellings is undeniably pleasing on the eye and the soul. Here, the little streets emit an authentic Spanish ambience and slight rough-and-ready charm that’s hard to find in more developed resorts.
On a wet and windy evening in Ireland it is so tempting to book a flight and just relax in this little corner of paradise.
